Jazz is indisputably one of the pillars of today's popular music.
What once could be heard on the cotton plantations in America's deep South, has developed into one ofthe world's most popular misic genres. Although other musical forms, namely rock and roll (of which Jazz was the founder), overtook it in mass popularity in the 50's and 60's, Jazz can still measure up to the best today's popular music has to offer and its popularity continues to grow.

The hundred year old history of Jazz is all embracing and colourful. We can only now imagine the enormous impact the lve orchestra's which played in the American and later.
English nightclubs during the 20's must have had! Athough popular amoung a select group of advocates from the beginnig, recognition and acceptance by the general public was long in coming and not helped by the unfavourable reviews of music journalists unused to the new sound.
Politically too many Afro-American Jazz musicans suffered discrimination and it was not until the late 1960's that their personal situation began to significantly improve.

During its first century Jazz misic has seen many changes: from the "Swingera of the 30's through to the "Jitterbug"and the evolution of "Bebop"in the 50's, to our present day star performers all inspired by those first live orchestra's whose sound led their audiences to dance and be happy all those years ago.

"ALL THAT JAZZ" FIGURINES ARE PRODUCED IN THE NETHERLANDS BY PARASTONE AND DESIGNED BY ED VAN ROSMALEN.
